Coach Tim Funkhouser

     Tim Funkhouser is entering his 20th year as the head coach of the Tigers.  In addition to head coaching duties, his works with the infielders, catchers and hitters daily.  Coach Funkhouser enters his 20th season at the helm of the Tigers. He and his staff have compiled a 582-148.  The Tigers have reached the Elite 8 eight times (2002 & 2017 IHSA State Runner-Up) and have won seven Southwestern Conference titles during his tenure.  The Tigers have been ranked nationally as high as #4 in 2004 and #7 in 2015.  Since 1999, 97 players have moved on to play at the collegiate level.  Coach Funkhouser was inducted into the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016 and serves on the ABCA Coaching Certification Committee.  Tim currently teaches Physical Education, Adaptive PE and is as a huddle coach for the EHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes.     

     Coach Funkhouser was a two-year captain and is a graduate of Western Illinois University ('95 Education) and Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville ('00 Sport Management).  He began his teaching and coaching career at Triad High School in St. Jacob, Illinois, compiling a 55-32 (twice MVC Champs) in 1996-98. Coach Funkhouser and his wife Shannon have two children: Evan and Cole.
